MINI Malaysia previews the new Cooper S 5-Door; check the full details

KUALA LUMPUR: MINI Malaysia lineup will finally get a revamp with the soon introduction of the latest Cooper S 5-Door. The car was recently previewed in the country and was praised for its new and improved specs kit and the impressive extra space it brings along.

Let us now learn more about the new MINI Cooper S 5-Door in detail -

Price: The new 5-Door variant is set to be priced approximately at RM 293,000, however with the extended warranty and service package it rises to RM 303,400.

Powertrain: Under the hood, the new MINI comes equipped with a 2.0-litre turbocharged inline-four engine that generates a maximum power of 204 hp and 300 Nm of torque.

Performance: The 2.0L unit allows the car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 6.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 242 km/h.

Practicality: The 5-Door now offers increased practicality with more cabin space and easier access to the rear seats.

Exterior: On the outside the showcases a sporty and classic MINI aesthetic with key inclusions like - 18-inch two-tone alloys, high beam assistance, selectable tail light signatures, and contrasting roof and mirror caps.

Inside: The cabin is designed to offer a more high-tech and eco-friendly experience. For instance, the seats are now covered with vegan Vescin leather in a unique houndstooth pattern with blue inserts for added flair. The dashboard continues to feature an eco-friendly theme with recycled polyester materials. Also part of the spec kit is a 9.4-inch OLED touchscreen running MINI's latest Operating System 9 along with driving modes, comfort access, and ISOFIX mounts.

Safety: As expected the MINI Cooper S 5-Door is packed with cutting-edge safety features, including lane departure warnings, active cruise control with stop-and-go, rear cross-traffic alerts, and parking assistance. Also part of the kit is Remote 3D View which allows the driver to monitor their vehicle remotely.

The all-new MINI Cooper S 5-Door was launched alongside the fully electric MINI Aceman SE, thus showcasing the automaker’s commitment to offering a variety of power options for different market segments. As for the 5-Door, it is a solid choice for buyers who prefer traditional internal combustion engines.
