New Ford Everest: Features explained

Ford Everest is among the best SUVs that you can buy in the country right now. It is also the best that Ford has to offer in this genre. Considering its popularity and the increasing competition from the rivals, Ford recently made available the 2019 Everest with a facelift and added features. In this story, we are going to cover some of the top features the new Ford Everest.

New Ford Everest

Immense road presence

Ford has sorted out the dimensions of the Explorer precisely. This SUV is really humongous and it demands a lot of road presence. It might look very modern courtesy of the powerful headlamps with LED daytime running lights and new three-slat chrome front grille, but it could also be a bit intimidating to look at in your rearview mirror. It doesn’t matter from which angle you look at it, the Everest is going to show you a constant and mesmerising experience.

Off-road capabilities

To justify the name of the Everest, Ford has implemented various features to help tackle a variety of off-road conditions. To begin with, the approach and departure angle of 30 and 25 degrees respectively enable you to take this mammoth through some of the steepest and unexpected paths. Ford also claims that the all-new Everest can wade through 800 mm deep water without any issue. Another useful element is the high ground clearance of 225 mm which keeps in check that the underbody of the vehicle doesn’t brush through the objects you’re climbing on.

New Ford Everest off-road capabilities

The Everest also comes with Ford’s Terrain Management System (TMS) that provide you with four different driving modes - Road, Sand, Snow and Rock - which you can select via a dial located next to the gear lever. Apart from this, the electronic locking rear differential is also a welcoming feature.

Powerful turbo engines

The 2019 Ford Everest specs have been changed to make it more interesting and capable. There are two engine options available. One is a 2.0L single turbo diesel engine that produces 180 PS and 420 Nm of torque.

New Ford Everest gearbox

And the other one is a 2.0L Bi-turbo diesel mill that churns out 213 PS and an impressive 500 Nm of torque. Both the engines come mated to a brand-new 10-speed automatic transmission that has been designed to improve fuel efficiency and enhance acceleration with seamless gear changes.

Ford’s SYNC 3 technology

New Ford Everest cabin

Inside the cabin of the Ford Everest, you would find a large 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system that is loaded with Ford’s SYNC 3 technology. It isn’t a ground-breaking technology that would change your perspective towards the world, but it surely will amaze you with things that it has been programmed to understand and achieve. SYNC 3 recognises certain voice commands and act accordingly. Things like making phone calls, listening to music, navigation, etc. just got easier. Also, you can connect your smartphone with the Ford Everest via Applink, Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.

There is ample amount of space for all the people to move around and sit comfortably even on the longest of journeys. The dual zone climate control is very powerful and makes sure the air inside the cabin is of the right temperature.

Hands-free Power Lift Gate

Ford has included a few convenient features which, as the name suggests, make your life a tad bit easier. The Everest comes with Hands-free Power Lift Gate that opens and closes the tailgate automatically. You only need to trigger a sensor with your leg. This is a handy feature when your hands are full and/or the tailgate is dirty.
