Omoda | Jaecoo Malaysia records 153% growth in 2025; opens bookings for Jaecoo J5
KUALA LUMPUR: Omoda | Jaecoo Malaysia made an impactful debut in 2024 and has continued to grow its footprint since then. The brand sold a total of 17,849 vehicles in 2025, which marks a significant growth of 153% over 7,040 vehicles registered in its first year.

The Jaecoo J5 is set for launch in Malaysia in the first quarter of 2026.This marks a remarkable chapter of growth for the brand and signals even greater momentum ahead in 2026. The growth is driven by the strong reception of the J7, with a total of 11,522 units sold during the year. The J7 PHEV also enjoyed significant traction, with a total of 3,000 units nationwide.

Jaecoo J5 bookings open in Malaysia
Building on this momentum, Omoda | Jaecoo Malaysia has opened the ordering books for its new B-segment SUV, the Jaecoo J5. Customers can now officially book the SUV at an estimated price of RM 120,000 and be among the first to experience the brand’s next chapter.
Dubbed as the “Everyday Superstar,” the Jaecoo J5 is set to offer a taste of Jaecoo’s “attainable luxury” formula to a wider audience. Positioned below the Jaecoo J7, the SUV is 4,380 mm long, 1,860 mm wide, and 1,650 mm tall, and has a 2,620 mm wheelbase.
Under its bonnet lies a dynamic 1.5-litre turbocharged intercooled engine that kicks out 147 PS of maximum power and 210 Nm of peak torque. Sending power to the front wheels is a responsive CVT automatic transmission. The fuel economy is rated at 7.5 litres per 100 km (13.3 kmpl).
