Order books open for Kona 1.6 Turbo & 1.6 Turbo N Line

KUALA LUMPUR: Hyundai Malaysia lineup will soon get two new Kona variants - the 1.6 Turbo N Line and 1.6 Turbo, before the end of this month. For now, the automaker has opened its ordering books, interested customers can book one via the automaker's new online shopping platform, Cl!ck to Buy or contact any Hyundai authorised showrooms.

Mr Low Yuan Lung, Managing Director of Hyundai-Sime Darby Motors on the soon introduction ok Kona variants said, “With the introduction of the Kona N Line, we are confident that the Kona will lead the B-SUV segment, not only with its looks and but also with its performance. There has been keen interest among Malaysian motorists on our N and N Line brands, so we foresee a good response, especially for the sportier Kona N Line.”

Hyundai Kona 1.6 Turbo features

Once launched, the Kona 1.6 Turbo variant will lead the B-segment SUV segment with the most potent engine in the market. As for the Kona 1.6 Turbo N Line variant, it will be Malaysia's first N Line model.

Like Hyundai's other N Line models, this one will feature styling and performance bits setting it apart from standard trims. Its sporty design elements will not only enhance its looks but aerodynamics quotient as well. Driving the N Line trim would be fun thanks to more power, premium tyres, and better handling agility. Furthermore, the range-topping Kona with its top Euro NCAP rating is amongst the safest B-segment SUVs around. Overall the N Line is a perfect combo of comfort, technology, and safety.

What powers the Kona 1.6 Turbo & 1.6 Turbo N Line variants?

Hyundai Kona 1.6 Turbo & 1.6 Turbo N Line engine

Both the Kona 1.6 T-GDi variants will source power from a Smartstream G1.6 T-GDI, inline four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine generating maximum power of 198 PS at 6,000 rpm along with a peak torque of 265 Nm at 1,600 to 4,500 rpm. The power is sent to the wheels via a Smartsteam 7DCT - 2nd gen 7-speed Dual Clutch transmission. Not to forget, the said powerplant offers dynamic performance with a smooth and comfortable driving experience, all this with better fuel economy and reduced emissions.
