Petronas updates its range of Syntium with CoolTech lubricants
KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian oil and gas company Petronas has expanded its range of Syntium with CoolTech lubricants with several new introductions including the company’s first lubricant for hybrid engines. The introductions are as follows:
- Petronas Syntium 7000 Hybrid 0W-20 with CoolTech
- Petronas Syntium 7000 0W-16 with CoolTech
- Petronas Syntium 7000 0W-20 with CoolTech
- Petronas Syntium 3000 5W-30
- Petronas 800 5W-30 CoolTech
All these lubricants are in tandem with the latest API SN Plus specifications and said to perform efficiently against excessive engine heat to improve the overall performance. Petronas Dagangan Berhad MD and CEO, Datuk Sri Syed Zainal Abidin Syed Mohamad Tahir said, “The new range stands to capture the growing market as we tap into a previously underserved, cutting-edge segment. Coupled with our experience in Formula One, we have developed a formulation that focuses on optimising engine performance for both gas fuel and hybrid vehicles.”
He also added that the CoolTech technology had been developed to assist cooling of vital engine components, to run the entire machine with efficiency even under pressure.
Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsports F1 driver, Lewis Hamilton was also present along with Eric Holthusen (Petronas Lubricants International CTO) during the showcasing event of the new lubricants range. The five-time Drivers’ Championship title winner and F1 star praised the Petronas Syntium’s role in cooling the engines which were translated in results on the track. He also added that it’s reassuring to know that they have the “best and most reliable fluids” for their engines.
Furthermore, the company also revealed the pricing of the lubricants -
- Syntium 7000 Hybrid 0W-20 with CoolTech: RM295 (4L) and RM80 (1L)
- Syntium 7000 0W-16 with CoolTech: RM315 (4L) and RM95 (1L)
- Syntium 7000 0W-20 with CoolTech: RM185 (4L) and RM60 (1L)
- Syntium 3000 5W-30: RM180 (4L) and RM55 (1L)
- Petronas 800 5W-30 with CoolTech: RM144 (4L) and RM40 (1L)
