Proton offers cultural handicrafts to the Hangzhou Asian Games Museum

KUALA LUMPUR: Proton extended its support to the upcoming Hangzhou Asian Games by collaborating with the Geely Holding Group and Malaysian sports delegates. They presented a collection of cultural handicrafts on September 22 2023, to the Hangzhou Asian Games Museum.

Proton has been designated the 19th Asian Games official vehicle. It will play an important role in bridging the gap between Malaysia and this prestigious event. Proton will provide transportation solutions and actively engage in various promotional activities to showcase its dedication to supporting sportsmanship. It also aims to become a vital part of the event's success. Roslan Abdullah, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of PROTON, stated,  "Embracing our Malaysian roots and cherishing our rich heritage, we are dedicated to sharing our Nation's essence with the world. Through the donation of these cultural crafts to the Asian Games Museum, PROTON contributes to the building of  relationships between countries, bringing unity in this 19th Asian Games." 

These handicrafts hold great cultural importance as they have been collected from different regions of Malaysia. As a part of the "Asian Games Nation Drive" initiative, Proton made lots of efforts to collect these handicrafts. While collecting these treasures, Proton ventured into different parts of the country and engaged with local athletes. These handicrafts give a glimpse into Malaysia's rich culture and enrich the Asian Games essence. These handicrafts will be displayed at the Hangzhou Asian Games Museum.

During the event, the Hangzhou Asian Games Organizing Committee and the Olympic Council of Asia extended a warm welcome to the Malaysian delegation and showed gratitude for the gesture made by them. The appreciation extended by HAGOC and OCA highlighted the importance of such acts in international sports diplomacy. This gesture also strengthened the spirit of solidarity and sportsmanship that are the main agendas of the Asian Games.
