Renault Captur can be Previewed from July 29 at BSC

KUALA LUMPUR: The wait to grab the first look of the upcoming crossover from the French auto maker, Renault is over. After the confirmation of the new B-segment crossover, named Captur release in April for the Malaysian market, it was expected to preview in the last quarter of 2015.

Now, with the launch of a new website by Renault Malaysia its been confirmed that the crossover would be up for a local preview at the Bangsar Shopping Centre (BSC) from the end of July 2015. It would be showcased at BSC for locals from July 29 to August 2 as viewed in the teaser image.

Talking about its specifications, under the bonnet it will be acquainted with a 1.2L turbocharged TCe power mill, which would be good enough for 120 hp and 190 Nm of torque. It will be accompanied with a six-speed EDC dual clutch gearbox.

With the growing market, the competition level has increased to a fair amount and the upcoming crossover would definitely be challenging the current rivals in the market with the likes of Ford EcoSport and Peugeot 2008. There is Honda HR-V, which has been the most successful crossover in the market and it would take some extraordinary looks, features and design to outclass its success runaway. There is another crossover, named Mazda CX-3 which would soon be making its way to the Malaysian market, further enhancing the rivalry.

With this launch in Malaysia, the French car brand is expecting to boost up its sales and improve its presence in the country. It is also expected to bring in one more CKD model, other than Captur by next year which would be assembled in Malaysia only. The company could also cut the prices down to dominate other car companies in the same segment.
