Spyshots: Lexus IS 200t reveals its close launch in Malaysia

Kuala Lumpur: Lexus Malaysia has just released detailed specifications for its Lexus IS 200t and now we have got its few early peek, spotted on a trailer. We received the story courtesy paultan.org and their photographer Chris Aaron. Kudos! Well done.

Lexus IS 200t is still in the queue to show its face officially to the country residents. Looking at the specifications released on the site and hearing about all the news about the car, it is expected to go on sale very soon.

The range of the car is assumed to start at RM278,400 with the base variant and for the higher-specced variant (also called as Luxury variant) is said to be around RM311,900. This high price added to the luxury trim is a result of appointed 18-inch wheels to the drive (as shown in the picture here), auto wipers, wood/leather steering, powered rear sunshade, GPS navigation, Reverse Camera, Blind Spot Monitoring and Rear Cross Traffic Alert.

Even more, there would be IS 200t F Sport variant available at the showrooms soon, priced at RM344,900. As suggested by the name itself, the trim adorns unique 'sportish' features in the car, unlike Base and Luxury variant. Distinguish characters of the car includes bespoke bumpers, wheels, digital instrumental cluster, engine sound generator and adaptive suspension. After looking at all the price figures on comparison with the Lexus IS 250 V6 models, which is sold at pricing – RM266k to RM328k, you will be surprised to see the difference!

Under the hood, all the three trims are equipped with 2.0-litre turbo engine that enables the vehicle to churn out a maximum power output of 241 HP and peak torque of 350 Nm. Coupled with an eight-speed automatic transmission, IS 200t gives fair competition to IS 250 that covers 0 to 100 kmph speed mark in 8.1 seconds and mileage count of 8.6 litre/100km.
