Suzuki is coming back to Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: Suzuki departed from the Malaysian market five years ago, and now in 2021, the Japanese automaker is coming back. Yes, you read it right, once again we’ll have Suzuki vehicles running down the road.

Suzuki senior managing officer and executive general manager of global automobile marketing Kinji Saito said, “We are delighted to return to the Malaysian market with the Naza Group as our distributor. Our experience with the Malaysian market has been delightful due to the huge acceptance from our customers, and we greatly appreciate the continued trust for Suzuki. We are looking forward to introducing our latest award-winning cars to these loyal Suzuki fans.”

Naza group executive chairman and CEO SM Nasarudin SM Nasimuddin said, “It brings us great honour to be able to work with a Japanese automotive giant that successfully captured the hearts of Malaysian consumers during its years in the Malaysian market” He further added, “The team at Naza Eastern Motors is committed to ensure we build on the strong reputation Suzuki has established by providing quality products that are reliable, desirable and cheerful.”

Who will distribute Suzuki vehicles in Malaysia?

After giving up Kia and Peugeot franchises in the country, Naza is back with full force. The Japanese automaker will be represented by its subsidiary Naza Eastern Motors.

The brand’s first flagship 3S dealership will utilize over 3000 sq. ft. of land and will feature a vibrant and bright atmosphere along with few interactive bits. It will be located in Naza Automall PJ. Also, the new dealers will only be authorized to service new models, old Suzuki cars will still be taken care of by Proton dealers.

What all Suzuki vehicles will be on offer?

We have been told that Suzuki will launch as many as two cars in this month itself, we suspect them being - the Swift Sport and Jimny. Currently, the two models will be brought from Japan via grey imports at inflated prices. Let’s see if Naza could offer them at reasonable prices.
