This is what the Geely FY11 will look like
KUALA LUMPUR: It has been just over a fortnight since we had the first look of the upcoming FY11. What we know now is that those were not the only images of the soon arriving coupe SUV. Have a look at a few more images here. In conjunction with Volvo, the Geely FY11 will be the first model from the Chinese stable to feature Compact Modular Architecture.
Geely has said that the FY11 will be housing a 2.0-litre turbocharged motor good enough for 238 PS of maximum power and a peak torque of 350 Nm. Both the front wheel drive and all-wheel drive will be offered. The FY11 SUV’s roofline is reminiscent of the Mercedes-Benz GLA and the BMW X4. The FY11 looks a lot husky and brawny thanks to the cuts and creases it has got. For starters, the bonnet gets noticeable contour lines and a wide lower intake can also be seen at the front.
The Geely FY11 also gets the trademark expanding cosmos grille flanked by “arrow-inspired” headlights. Both at the front and rear, there is a chrome strip running across joining the headlamp and taillight clusters. The headlamps are slim and take design cues from the Chinese fan. Similar styling has also been found on cars like the Borui GE. With all the information still unavailable, the FY11 SUV is expected to feature a wheelbase of 2,700 mm and measure 4,605 mm in length, 1,878 mm in width, and 1,643 mm in height. Just in case you didn’t know, the Geely FY11 has been designed at Geely Design Shanghai.
Geely has already registered some names like Fengyue, Geyue, Haoyue, Jinyue, Xingyue, and Zhiyue. We expect the GY11 to be called something similar if not by these names.
