Volkswagen Jetta limited edition launched

Kuala Lumpur: After a huge wait Volkswagen Jetta's Limited Edition has finally made its opening in the Malaysian market segment. Jetta LE has been made available in the market in two variants – Jetta Club Edition and Jetta Sport Edition, the production of both of these drives however in the country has been limited to 500 products.

To start off with, as you can see here, Volkswagen Jetta Sport Edition is essentially a bulked up version of Jetta CKD 1.4 TSI which made its launch back in 2014. The exterior outfits that you can avail over Volkswagen Jetta standard in Sport edition include a 5-piece Zubehor bodykit which involves side skirtings, a front chin spoiler, a humble rear lip spoiler and an aggressive diffuser like bumper on the rear. On the profile view, Volkswagen Jetta Sport Edition includes 17-inch “Silex” double 5-spoke alloys which are coupled with 225/45 configuration Goodyear Assurance TripleMax tyres which happen to be an inch larger than the 16-inch tyres found on Volkswagen Jetta.

There are no real noticeable changes on the inside though, barring a Blaupunkt Philadephia 835 7-inch touchscreen head which has been mounted on the centre console, this system also includes GPS navigational capabilites. Under the hood, Jetta Sport Edition houses a twin charged 1.4-litre TSI 4 cylinder engine which delivers a power output measuring 158 hp at 5800 rpm alongside a maximum torque measuring 240 Nm between 1500 to 4500 rpm. This engine bundled with a 7-speed DSG dual clutch gearbox does 0-100 kmph in just 8.3 seconds a reaches a top speed measuring 221 kmph.

On the other hand, Jetta Club Edition takes over 17-inch alloy wheels and bodykit but carries forth Blaupunkt touchscreen head unit. Also, Jetta Club features the same mechanical standards as the normal Jetta 1.4 TSI. In terms of pricing, Volkswagen Jetta Sport Edition is priced at RM 132,888 which includes GST without on-road pricing, this surprisingly is RM 2,000 less than the standard Jetta 1.4 TSI. Jetta Club Edition is even more affordable offering a price tag of RM 122,888 including on-road costs.
