The BMW M5 is the most complex M5, and that complexity can be seen on many levels. It comes with a dizzying array of drive modes (gas, electric, combined, plus performance modes) and time will be needed by even seasoned M-car fans to explore them all. The screen-heavy infotainment system of this car is also very complicated. It comes with a voice assistant, but it has many features and settings to get used to. You’ll adapt over time to this digital overload, but the learning curve is definitely a bit steep. It is not as groundbreaking as this vehicle could’ve been because of the focus of BMW on engagement over performance.
