First seen at the Malaysia Autoshow 2024, the Chinese brand Jetour finally entered the Malaysian market last week. It is Chery’s sub-brand that offers the Dashing SUV as its first model here.

The Jetour Dashing is a C-segment SUV available in two variants - Comfort and Prime, featuring the same design and mechanical setup. However, what sets them apart is a different set of features that suit varying requirements and budgets.

In terms of dimensions, the Comfort and Prime are identical and offer a balanced and confident road presence. The 2,720 mm long wheelbase promises ample cabin space and a stable ride. The ground clearance is estimated at 160 mm, making the SUV suitable for urban roads as well as light terrains. Both variants of the Jetour Dashing are powered by the same 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 156 PS and 230 Nm. Power is sent to the front wheels via a six-speed dual-clutch transmission. The setup promises to offer smooth and reliable performance, making it well-suited for daily use as well as longer journeys.

Features 

The Malaysia-spec Dashing SUV comes loaded with advanced technology inside and out. The base-spec Comfort variant features all-around LED lighting, dual 10.25-inch displays, smartphone connectivity, and other essential creature comforts.

The Prime variant, on the other hand, offers a more premium and well-equipped package at an extra cost of RM 7,000. It comes with larger wheels, ambient lighting, a panoramic sunroof, and comprehensive driver assistance features, enhancing the overall driving experience.
