Jetour VT9 features explained: Design, performance, tech & more

Jetour caught all the attention at the Malaysia Autoshow 2025 with the launch of its second SUV in the country, the VT9. Designed for large families and tech-savvy drivers, the Jetour VT9 is a spacious, refined, and feature-rich vehicle, adding serious competition to the nation's growing 7-seater SUV market.

The Jetour VT9 comes in two variants here - Comfort and Prime, priced between RM 119,350 and RM 124,350 (on the road, without insurance). With the early bird promo (available for the first 800 orders), the customers can enjoy a rebate of RM 2,000.

In today’s story, we are set to take a closer look at everything the VT9 has to offer, from its design and tech to its powertrain and safety. So, let’s get started.

Exterior design 

Bold V-shaped front grille: The SUV has an aggressive front design with a refined 3D feather-inspired grille that brings a bold, dynamic presence to every drive.

LED headlights and DRLs: On the edges of the grille, we can see brilliantly lit LED headlights which are inspired by the rooflines of traditional Chinese architecture and the warm glow of classic lanterns. These are mated to striking daytime running lights that reimagine heritage with a modern edge.

LED tail lights: At the rear, the SUV is equipped with sleek LED tail lights, which are also influenced by the Chinese lantern design. These command attention and leave a lasting impression with captivating LED Sequential Rear Turn Signals.

Tail pipes: Further adding a polished, sporty flair to the rear design are dual twin tailpipes, which improve exhaust flow for better engine performance.

LED welcome light: The SUV also features the brand’s signature “JETOUR” LED welcome light, adding a little spotlight to every entrance and exit.

Powered tailgate: Enabling users to load up and head out without any fuss is the powered tailgate that opens with just a touch.

Power-folding side mirrors: Another convenient bit that you get with the VT9 SUV is the power-folding side mirrors, which can be folded or unfolded automatically when locking or unlocking the vehicle.

Wheels: The vehicle rides on 19-inch alloy wheels mated to 235/55 tyres.

Interior design & comfort

Cabin layout: The spacious VT9 SUV boasts a 2+3+2 seating layout, accommodating up to seven occupants comfortably. While the first row incorporates plush captain seats, the second row is kitted with a bench-type seat offering easy access to the third row.

Soft-touch interior finishes with fine stitching: The vehicle exudes refinement and tactile comfort with soft-touch interior finishes adorning the different elements. The fine stitching highlights the attention to detail aspect of the interior.

Leather upholstery: Adding an exclusive, premium touch to your drive is leather upholstery that ensures comfort, durability and ease of maintenance.

Power-adjustable seats: The new Jetour SUV comes with a six-way power-adjustable driver seat and a four-way manually adjustable front passenger seat. On the top-spec Prime trim, the driver seat also supports a memory feature.

Multifunctional steering wheel: The SUV also houses a multifunctional leather-wrapped steering wheel, allowing you to navigate with ease while offering all the essential controls right at your fingertips.

Smart centre console: The centre console of the vehicle looks quite impressive, thanks to the jet-inspired gear lever it houses. Here, you also get an electronic parking brake with auto brakehold, a 50W wireless charging dock keeping your phone fully charged on the go and a rotary dial allowing you to easily navigate menus, options on the central display. 

Ambient light: Adding a visual appeal to the interior is the ambient lighting system that creates a relaxing environment during nighttime drives. Notably, it is available in a single blue colour.

62-Inch panoramic sunroof: Another standout interior highlight is a sweeping 62-inch wide-angle panoramic sunroof that floods the cabin with natural light. It lends the cabin an open, more spacious, and inviting vibe.

Auto-dimming rear-view mirror: The range-topping Prime variant also features an auto-dimming rear-view mirror, which reduces the glare from vehicles' headlights behind you, thus reducing eye strain and improving night-time driving comfort.

Front armrest: There is also a thoughtfully designed centre armrest available for the front passengers with an integrated compartment. The latter features a cooling and heating ventilation system, maintaining the ideal temperature of stored items.

Intuitive air conditioning system: The SUV has an intuitive air-conditioning system allowing users to control the temperature, fan speed, etc, simply by speaking commands. There is also a CN95 cabin air filter, which significantly improves the quality of air inside the vehicle’s cabin. 

Expandable trunk space: The SUV has a 89-litre boot area that can be expanded up to 1,680 litres with the rear seats down, allowing you to bring more possibilities to the adventures ahead.

Infotainment & connectivity 

10.25-inch LCD Smart Twin Screen: The dashboard of the Jetour VT9 houses a wide display integrating a 10.25-inch infotainment unit and a 10.25-inch instrument cluster. The former allows you to access media, GPS navigation, and other vehicle settings, while the latter displays a wide range of driving-related information, including speed, navigation prompts, safety alerts, trip information, and more.

Apple CarPlay and Android Auto: The infotainment system also supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration systems, letting you mirror key features of your smartphone onto the screen. 

Wireless charging, 12V sockets & USB ports: The SUV lets you charge any device effortlessly thanks to strategically placed 12V sockets, a 50W wireless smartphone charging pad positioned at the central console, and USB-A ports in the front and back.

Powertrain & performance

Turbocharged engine: Under the hood, the SUV is powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder that kicks out a maximum power of 156 PS at 5,500 rpm and a peak torque of 230 Nm between 1,750 to 4,000 rpm.

6-speed dual-clutch transmission: Power is sent to the wheels via a six-speed wet dual-clutch gearbox that promises quick, smooth, and seamless gear changes without interrupting power delivery.

Drive modes: The VT9 comes with two drive modes - Sport and Eco, allowing drivers to adapt the vehicle's performance to different road conditions and personal preferences.

Safety & driver assistance features

Six airbags: The new Jetour SUV comes packed with six airbags, protecting you and your passengers in case of collisions.

Tyre Pressure Monitoring System: It ensures optimal tyre health, contributing to overall safety and peace of mind during every journey. 

Cruise Control: Most suited for highway driving, this system lets the driver drive at a preset speed by automatically adjusting the vehicle’s speed to maintain a safe distance.

360° Surround-view Parking Assistance: It offers a 360° view of the vehicle and its immediate surroundings, letting you park and manoeuvre in tight spaces conveniently.

Advanced driver-assistance systems -

• Blind spot detection: It alerts you to hidden vehicles on the road, making every drive safer.
• Rear cross-traffic alert: It notifies the driver about people or vehicles passing behind the SUV.
• Lane change warning: The advanced sensors deliver instant alerts, keeping you aware of your surroundings and a step ahead with every lane change.
• Door opening warning: It intelligently detects approaching vehicles as you open the door to warn you of danger.
