    Engine

The mechanical specifications of all Proton X90 variants are also identical. All are powered by the same 48V Electric Motor Synergy (EMS) System, which bundles up a 1.5-litre three-cylinder Turbocharged Gasoline Direct injection (TGDi) mill and a Belt Starter Generator (BSG). The engine churns out 177 PS of maximum power and 255 Nm of torque while the electric motor contributes 13 PS and 45 Nm to the total output, which is rated at 190 PS and 300 Nm.

    Proton X90

The setup is tied up with a swift-acting 7-speed dual clutch transmission (DCT) exclusively optimised for this innovative mild hybrid mill. According to Proton, it enhances fuel efficiency, lowers emissions, and provides additional power and torque for improved performance. Thus, making it a “powerful yet economical option for a three-row SUV”.

It should be noted that this powertrain has already received accolades in markets such as China and the Philippines.
