1900 PS Pininfarina Battista hyper GT global debut set for this week

KUALA LUMPUR: Pininfarina unveiled the pre-production Battista at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show, and now two years later, the Italian automobile company is ready to roll out its road-ready version. The first production-spec Battista electric hypercar will make its debut at the Monterey Car Week scheduled for August 12-15, 2021.

For the event, the first-ever Battista gets a few extra touches. It sports an aggressive styling with black exposed signature carbon fibre bodywork teamed up with black gloss precision polished Impulso wheels. Inside, we can see black sustainable leather with Iconica Blu contrast stitching and quilted Pilota seats in Iconica Blu Alcantara. The seats have Pilota Carbon Components, which are also finished in black exposed signature carbon in line with the exterior finishing. Overall, the EV boasts the beautiful Pininfarina design philosophy in an elegant way.

Per Svantesson, CEO of Automobili Pininfarina, said: "The premiere of the first production-specification Battista in the US marks the beginning of another significant chapter in the Automobili Pininfarina story. We are excited to showcase the beautiful and sustainable future of luxury to our clients while celebrating more than 90 years of Pininfarina design heritage during Monterey Car Week. We look forward to our clients in the US experiencing the immense dynamic performance and personalised luxury of Battista for the first time."

Under the hood, the road-ready Battista is equipped with four electric motors and a 120-kWh battery pack. The setup delivers a whopping power output of 1900 PS and a peak torque of 2300 Nm. These output numbers enable the hypercar to touch the century sprint in less than 2 seconds, faster than a current Formula 1 car. The top speed is rated at 350 kmph. And when it comes to driving range, Pininfarina claimed a 500 km mark on a single charge.

Take note Pininfarina will build only 150 Battista hyper GTs for clients worldwide, of which North America and Europe will account for the bigger chunks, as compared to the Middle East and Asia. It is now available to order at an eye-watering price starting from $2.2 million (equivalent to RM 9.3 million).
