2020 Nissan Sentra unveiled at 2019 Los Angeles Auto Show
KUALA LUMPUR: The Japanese multinational automobile manufacturer, Nissan has taken the wraps off the all-new N18 Nissan Sentra at the 2019 Los Angeles Auto Show in California. Sentra is Nissan’s all-time best-selling car in the US. In some other markets, the car is known as Sylphy.
Earlier this year, the Nissan Sentra has made its debut in China. Design-wise, the car looks pretty much the same as the Chinese debutant. It comes with a floating roof, slim LED headlights and the brand’s signature V-motion radiator grille. A range of exterior colour options and wheel design options are there too.
Speaking of Nissan Sentra cabin, there is a new dashboard that incorporates an eight-inch touchscreen display is placed on. It comes with NissanConnect support that includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. Just above the climate control switchgear and triple air-con vents, the head unit is placed. According to the carmaker, the cabin is pretty good to provide a premium feel. There are USB/AUX inputs and a 360-degree around-view monitor too.
The eighth-gen US-spec Sentra is powered by the new 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine. It is capable of churning out a maximum power of 149 hp along with a peak torque of 198 Nm.
Coming to the Nissan Sentra safety features, it is equipped with ten airbags, intelligent forward collision warning, intelligent driver alertness and rear door alert as standard. Also, the Nissan Safety Shield 360 is provided, which includes rear automatic braking, high beam assist and automatic emergency braking having pedestrian detection. The sedan also has some drive-related technologies too, such as intelligent trace control, emergency brake for pedal misapplication and intelligent ride control.
David Kershaw, Nissan’s vice president of sales and regional operations for the North America region, said, “Nissan has a vibrant portfolio of new-generation sedans for customers in the US market. With more than six million Sentra vehicles sold, we believe the all-new Sentra will reach new heights offering refinement and quality, technology and performance not seen before. The lower stance and more athletic design cues from the Maxima sports sedan give Sentra a sexy new look.”
