2024 Volvo C40 EV SUV upgraded in Malaysia with extended 550km range, Matrix LED headlights with no price increase

KUALA LUMPUR: Volvo's quirky electric crossover SUV, the C40 Recharge Pure Electric, rolls into the 2024 model year with impressive enhancements including a leap to a 550km electric range, swift DC charging capabilities for its expanded battery, and innovative pixel headlights.

Volvo Car Malaysia announced that the flagship twin motor, all-wheel-drive (AWD) version of the C40 Recharge Pure Electric is now available for booking. This model showcases a second-generation rear electric motor that pumps out more power, providing an exhilarating and more dynamic drive.

Gone are the days of dual 204PS e-motors. The 2024 upgrade introduces a potent 249PS motor at the back and a new 160PS motor up front. This fresh setup not only boosts the SUV's total output to 408PS but also shifts the power emphasis to the rear, enhancing the driving experience.

Another headline feature is the C40's battery pack, now boasting 82kWh up from 78kWh, paired with an increased 200kW max input for DC charging. This means drivers can now juice up from 10 to 80 per cent in just under 27 minutes.

Volvo's commitment to electrification shines through with the C40's extended range, offering an extra 100km over its predecessor, reinforcing the company's ambition to transition fully to electric by 2030.

Highlights of the 2024 C40 Recharge Pure Electric include:

• Advanced pixel headlights that adaptively manage lighting to enhance visibility without dazzling others on the road.
• Stylish new 19-inch alloy wheels designed to cut through air more efficiently.
• The addition of Vapour Grey to the color palette, joining Onyx Black, Crystal White, Fjord Blue, and Sage Green.
• A complimentary 5-year Digital Services package, offering access to a suite of Google services and remote functions via the Volvo Cars app.

Priced at RM288,888, the updated C40 offers good value, backed by attractive financing options through Volvo Car Financial Services.
