6-seater Mazda CX-80 PHEV launched in Malaysia, starts from RM 332k

KUALA LUMPUR: Alongside the long-awaited Mazda CX-60, Bermaz Motor also introduced the CX-80 in Malaysia earlier this morning. The CX-80 is a six-seater premium SUV, designed for those who value comfort, luxury, and style in every journey.

Just like the CX-60, the CX-80 is also a part of the brand’s new ‘Large Product Group’ SUVs and underpins the Skyactiv Multi-Solution Scalable Architecture. 

Mazda CX-80: Key highlights 

Price

The Mazda CX-80 is offered in a single 2.5L PHEV AWD High Plus variant (fully imported from Japan), priced at RM 331,610 (on the road, without insurance). Included in the price is a five-year/100,000 km manufacturer’s warranty and a five-year/100,000 km complimentary maintenance package.

Dimensions

The three-row CX-80 measures 4,995 mm in length, 1,890 mm in width, 1,710 mm in height, and spans a wheelbase of 3,120 mm. It is 255 mm longer, 30 mm taller, and has a 250 mm longer wheelbase than the CX-60. The CX-80 tips the scales at 2,342 kg and has a ground clearance of 175 mm. 

Exterior

With Mazda's signature KODO Design philosophy, the CX-80 boasts the "Graceful Toughness" design concept, which combines ruggedness and elegance. 

The front fascia features a bold grille complemented by sleek L-shaped LED headlights and LED daytime running lights. Adding to the SUV’s redefined and commanding presence are sculpted character lines and flared wheel arches incorporating 20-inch alloy wheels. 

The rear design looks clean and cohesive with a sleek bumper design and L-shaped tail lights. Also part of the kit is a powered sunroof and a hands-free powered tailgate. 

The Mazda CX-80 comes in five colour choices - Artisan Red, Melting Copper, Rhodium White, Jet Black, and Platinum Quartz.

Interior

The SUV features a very comforting and inviting cabin packed with premium materials and intuitive technology. It features a 2-2-2 layout with captain seats in the second row; seats are wrapped in tan Nappa leather, offering a premium vibe along with excellent comfort and support for long journeys.

Engine and performance

The Malaysia-spec CX-80 is powered by a 2.5-litre e-Skyactiv plug-in hybrid drivetrain, combining a 2.5-litre naturally-aspirated engine, an e-motor and a 17.8 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. The specifications are as follows -
