Additional design sketches of Volkswagen Golf revealed ahead of its official debut

KUALA LUMPUR: Prior to the official debut of the eight-generation Volkwagen Golf on October 24, additional design sketches of the hot-hatch has been revealed.

This move will provide the enthusiasts with additional details regarding the looks of the car. According to the German automobile manufacturer, the latest generation of the Golf will feature a “more dynamic than ever before” exterior design. If you take a close look at the Golf design sketches, it certainly looks like the third-generation Scirocco.

The carmaker stated that the eight-generation Golf has been sketched for “the era of electrified drives, a digitalised and connected interior world, assisted driving and online-based functions and services.” The exterior sketch of the vehicle displays that it will retain the classic design, along with redesigned headlights. Talking about the headlamps, it gets a thin light strip that runs across the front side of the car. In addition to that, the grille and front bumper are revamped as well to offer a more fresh and modern look to the vehicle.

Moving to the interior, the sketch hints that the majority of the physical buttons will be mounted in the touchscreen which is placed in the middle of the dashboard. It is crafted in such a way that it flows on from the instrument console. Moreover, the air vents will be fused with a thin light strip that runs across the dashboard.

According to the German carmaker, the interior design of the car is a “new digital cockpit”, and the car will come equipped with “trendsetter in terms of its digitalised and connectivity-oriented interior world, its assisted driving features and its online-based functions and services.” Also, the brand stated that they would offer new suspension technology and a range of efficient powertrains.
