All-new Kia Carnival hits the Malaysian showrooms at RM 196,341

KUALA LUMPUR: The new distributor of Kia cars in Malaysia, Dinamika Jaya Motors Sdn Bhd, introduced the all-new Carnival in the country in November 2021. The company did not reveal the price of the upgraded MPV back then. Well, now it not only confirmed the final pricing but also announced the beginning of sales.

Available in sole 2.2D 11-Seater trim, the new Carnival retails for RM 196,341 (on-the-road, without insurance). The price includes a 50% rebate on sales and service tax as the MPV is a fully-imported CBU model coming all the way from South Korea. However, it is said that the local assembly of the vehicle will start in April this year. 

Here’s a quick recap of the new Kia Carnival specifications - 

The updated model measures 5,155 mm (+40 mm) in length, 1,995 mm (+10 mm) in width, and 1,775 mm in height, The wheelbase is also 30 mm more at 3,090 mm

The MPV is powered by a 2.2-litre Smartstream Turbo, CRDi, 4 Inline cylinders, DOHC engine churning out a maximum power output of 202 PS at 3,800 rpm and a peak torque of 441 Nm from 1,750 to 2,750 rpm. The mill is coupled with an eight-speed automatic gearbox with paddle shifters.

Included in the exterior standard features list are Dual LED headlights, LED tail lights, smart sliding doors, smart powered tailgate, 18-inch alloy wheels, and rain-sensing wipers.

Inside the cabin, you get a 4.2-inch supervision cluster, a 12.3-inch touch screen infotainment unit with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, a three-zone air-conditioning system, 7 USB ports, power-adjustable front seats,  engine start/stop button, electronic parking brake, cruise control, wireless charger and much more.

The safety is also top-notch in the new Kia Carnival. It comes with seven airbags, ABS with EBD and BA, electronic stability control, traction control system, multi-collision system, hill start assist control, blind-spot collision warning and rear cross-traffic collision-avoidance assist

The new Kia Carnival is available in six colours - Aurora Black Pearl, Snow White Pearl, Silky Silver, Panthera Metal, Astra Blue, and Flare Red. With every purchase, the company is offering a five-year/100,000 km manufacturer warranty.
