Audi reveals Audi SQ2 facelift

KUALA LUMPUR: Audi introduced the SQ2 sporty crossover only two years ago and now it gets a facelift. The revised model features quite a few designs and cabin changes. As for its engine configuration, the crossover runs on the same mill as before.

Speaking of which, SQ2 is powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder TFSI unit making a maximum power of 300 PS along with a peak torque of 400 Nm. The performance figures also remain the same as before, i.e., 0 to 100 kmph sprint time of 4.9 seconds and a top speed of 250 kmph. Sending power to all four wheels is a 7-speed Tronic dual-clutch gearbox with Audi's Quattro AWD system.

Audi SQ2 offers a sporty drive thanks to the shorter ratio of the lower gears, while longer seventh gear ensures better fuel economy. The car comes with an Efficiency mode that automatically disengages the clutch from the engine while coasting.

Here are modifications, the SQ2 facelift includes -

•  New grille featuring horizontal and vertical bars with polygons at intersections
• Optional matrix LED headlamps with new DRLs
• Several fake air vents both at the front and rear
• Aluminium-look side mirror caps
• Redesigned rear bumper with blocked-off plastic pieces
• Revised taillight with a slightly darker tint
• Fully digital 12.3-inch Audi virtual cockpit with special S treatment
• 8.3-inch centre display, illuminated door sill trims with S logo, stainless steel foot pedals
• Improved bearings and oil supply for better efficiency
• The facelifted model weighs 1kg less than the ongoing model

Audi Europe has started taking orders for the facelifted SQ2 crossover and the deliveries are scheduled to start in early 2021. At home (in Germany) the SQ2's price started from €45,700 ( around RM 223,000).
