BMW Malaysia confirms pricing for updated 218i Gran Coupé Sport – From RM218,800

KUALA LUMPUR: BMW Malaysia has officially revealed the pricing for its refreshed entry-level sedan, the 2025 BMW 218i Gran Coupé Sport.

Having made its first public appearance at the recent MY BMW World 2025 showcase, the car is now available at authorised dealerships across the country, with a starting price of RM218,800. Opting for the full BMW Service & Repair Inclusive (BSRI) package bumps that figure up to RM240,500.

What’s new with the 218i Gran Coupé Sport?

This isn’t a complete overhaul, but it’s a notable evolution of the 2 Series Gran Coupé that first entered the Malaysian market in 2020. BMW is calling this an upgrade aimed squarely at today’s tech-savvy and design-conscious drivers.

On the outside, the 218i retains its swooping four-door coupé shape but gets a bolder design treatment that gives it a bit more presence.

Inside, the cabin now features a fully digital cockpit and updated connectivity tools. BMW has also reworked the chassis to improve both handling and comfort, though it remains front-wheel drive.

BMW Malaysia is pushing more than just sheet metal. Its updated “Relax. We Care.” ownership approach includes services designed to keep the driving experience worry-free.

This covers:

• BMW Service Promise: Regular service appointments now come with greater transparency and consistency.

• BMW Proactive Care: The car uses sensor data to detect issues before they become a problem, sending alerts via the My BMW App or iDrive system.

• BMW ConnectedDrive: Allows over-the-air software updates and remote management via a centralised platform.

Customers also benefit from a 5-year, unlimited mileage warranty and service coverage up to 100,000 km. For fully electric BMWs, service extends to six years, with an 8-year high-voltage battery warranty.

Emergency breakdowns are covered by BMW Roadside Assistance, offering round-the-clock support including towing services, courtesy cars, and accommodation if needed.

Financing options and Insurance coverage

To help customers get behind the wheel with less financial strain, BMW Group Financial Services Malaysia is offering the Easy Drive Financing Plan, with monthly payments starting from RM2,480 (based on 80% financing over five years).

This includes a complimentary replacement car programme and a RM5,000 rebate for the first year’s BMW Comprehensive Motor Insurance, underwritten by Allianz General Insurance.

Alternatively, the Straight-Line Financing Plan offers ownership from RM2,582 a month, based on a longer seven-year tenure with similar loan terms.

Those who go through BMW’s financing options can also opt for BMW Protection+, which extends coverage beyond standard insurance. This includes accidental death and disability benefits, break-in compensation, GAP (guaranteed asset protection), flood and rim damage cover, and even protection for minor scratches and dents.
