BMW Malaysia showcased Z4 sDrive30i; booking open

KUALA LUMPUR: The BMW drop-top, the G29 Z4 has been shown by the German automaker once again, and it seems the car is not yet ready for an official launch. Also, unlike the model that was first shown in April, this one is the exact version that we’ll be getting in the local market.

In addition, it is the same Z4 model, i.e sDrive30i that is currently on display at the BMW M Track Day event in Sepang. The German automaker has also revealed the estimated price tag of the car that rests at RM 456,000 (on-the-road with insurance). It tallies with the price tag that was earlier announced by the company when the top M40i trim in LHD was showcased.

Powering the Z4 sDrive30i is a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo mill that churns out 258 PS of maximum power along with a peak torque of 400 Nm at 1,500 to 4,400 rpm. On the transmission front, the sDrive30i trim gets the same 8-speed Steptronic Sport automatic gearbox that features across the Z4 range. With the configuration mentioned above, the car can hit the 100 kmph mark in 5.4 seconds with its top-speed resting at 250 kmph.

Coming to the equipment on board, the BMW drop-top comes with Variable Sport Steering and M Sport Suspension as standard. Other regular items on its specs sheet are Intelligent Parking Assistant with a Reversing Assistant, digital key, and wireless phone charging.

Once launched, the car would be available in four exterior shades - Alpine White, San Francisco Red, Black Sapphire, and Misano Blue. These outer splashes are stylishly complemented with interior options of Magma Red with black stitching, black décor with black stitching, or black décor with black stitching.
