BYD Dolphin EV reaches 500,000 production milestone globally

KUALA LUMPUR: BYD, a leader in electric mobility, achieved a significant milestone in its sustainable transportation journey with the production of its 500,000th Dolphin vehicle. This represents the commitment of BYD to producing eco-friendly, top-notch quality vehicles that cater to the demand for energy-efficient transportation options.

BYD debuted in August 2021 and has solidified its position as the best A0-level hatchback in China. The BYD Dolphin is known for offering sustainable mobility solutions to customers worldwide. Since its debut in June 2023 in Brazil, the Dolphin sold over 4000 vehicles and received the title of the best-selling electric vehicle. In Thailand, the Dolphin secured fifth position in electric vehicle sales in its first month, delivering 481 units. It completed its first test drive event in the UK, garnering lots of praise from the media.

The Dolphin EV is the first model based on the e-Platform 3.0. It strongly emphasizes aerodynamics, interior cabin space, and structural rigidity, resulting in a car that excels in overall range and safety. Dolphin also boasts an 8-in-1 electric powertrain, contributing to its impressive performance. The incorporation of BYD's Blade Battery within the advanced e-Platform 3.0 leads to an engaging driving experience.

BYD achieved a remarkable feat with the production of 5.1 million new energy passenger cars, operating in many cities worldwide. This significant step has helped in advancing eco-friendly mobility on a global basis. In line with its "Cool the Earth by 1°C" vision, BYD stopped producing ICE vehicles in 2022 and started focusing on PHEVs to create a greener, brighter future.

In Malaysia, the Dolphin EV comes in two variants - Dynamic Standard Range and Premium Extended Range, priced at RM 100,530 and RM 125,530, respectively.
