Check out third-generation Bentley Flying Spur; new platform and design on-board

KUALA LUMPUR: The all-new third-gen Bentley Flying Supr is out now with its illuminating and retracting Flying B hood ornament. The Continental GT’s grand tourer sedan sibling now features an entirely new design language, sits on a new platform with a longer wheelbase, features tech upgrades and leather and wood inlays in the cabin.

Among all the significant changes, one thing that remains constant is its under the hood configuration. The Flying Spur, like before, is powered by a 6.0-litre W12 mill that churns out a maximum power of 686 hp (same as the Flying Supr W 12 S variant) along with a peak torque of 900 Nm (that’s 80 Nm more than before). The said mill is coupled to an 8-speed dual-clutch gearbox. With the above tuning, the car can cover the 0 to 97 kmph run in 4.2 seconds and has a top speed of 333 kmph in 6th gear. It is to be noted that the 7th and 8th gears are devoted to fuel saving at saner velocities.

The all-new Flying Spur now gets the same MSB architecture platform that does duty on the Porsche Panamera and the Continental GT. Enhancing the comfort levels of the rear passengers and calling for better handling is the new stretched wheelbase (by 5.1 inches).

• Choice of three sound systems - a Naim for Bentley 2,200-watt, 19-speaker system with Active Bass Transducers, a 10-speaker, 650-watt audio; a 1,500-watt, 16-speaker Bang or an Olufsen system with illuminated grilles and BeoSonic

The safety system is well packed and would surely be appreciated by the driver. Included in the kit are blind spot warning, self-parking capabilities Traffic Assist, top view camera, City Assist, night vision, and a heads up display unit.
