For the Ages: Volvo V60 wagon teased

KUALA LUMPUR: If movies can have teasers then why not cars? Volvo seems to be on top of its social media game by giving spice to the anticipation of the users of its upcoming car.  The manufacturer revealed a teaser video for its new wagon a week before its launch on 21st February. The teaser was released through an ‘Interactive Live Reveal’ on Facebook before its official debut at the upcoming Geneva Auto Show 2018.

If that isn’t enough to tug at your heartstrings, then watch the video. Titled “Designed for Generations”, it takes us on a trip down memory lane while showing a family progressing through many generations. Children learn to drive, couples fall in love, and families leave for road trips, as they keep going through Volvo’s illustrious backlog of classic wagons and family cars. And nothing says that you care for your family more than buying a safe and practical Volvo for it. While being overly emotional it is also heartening to know that Volvo is still doing what it did best – making safe and practical cars for families. The fact that they are doing this by keeping the humble station wagon alive in today’s world also brings a tear to our eyes.

 

Being a teaser, the video is expectedly scant on details about the car itself. But we can safely assume that it will have the same understated styling like the XC90 along with the Thor’s hammer like LED headlamps. Going by the leaked photos revealed earlier, we can also assume it to be a sportier version of the V90.

Similarly going by the XC60 lineup, the V60 will most probably come with similar engine options ranging from 187 hp and 400 Nm D4 diesel engine to the T6 Petrol engine with 400 hp and 400 Nm torque, along with the hybrid T8 twin-engine with 540 hp and 640 Nm of torque.
