  • Which SUVs rival the Hyundai Creta in Malaysia?

Proton X50, Honda HR-V, and Toyota Corolla Cross rival the likes of the Hyundai Creta in Malaysia.
  • But does the upcoming Hyundai Creta have the potential to make its space in the B-segment category that is dominated by the Proton X50, Honda HRV, and Toyota Corolla Cross? We tried to find out the answer to this question in today’s story. So, let’s get started.

    Hyundai Creta vs Rivals: Price

While Hyundai-Sime Darby Motors has yet to announce the Creta price for Malaysia, we can get some hints from the neighbouring markets. The Korean SUV retails between IDR 408.3 million (RM 86,153 and RM 120,756) in Indonesia, where it is assembled locally. The Indonesian-made Creta is also exported to Thailand, where it is priced between THB 949k and THB 999k (RM 121,806 to RM 128,224).

If we look at its competitors, the Malaysian-born Proton X50 is the cheapest in the lot with a starting price of RM 86,300. On the other hand, the Japanese counterparts are a bit expensive and the Creta is also likely to be priced somewhere around them. Well, pricing is always a concern when it comes to non-national models.

    Hyundai Creta

These SUVs offer a similar range of features with some minor differences such as the Hyundai Creta features wireless connectivity for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay; the Proton X50 is kitted with a larger infotainment system; the Honda HR-V comes with dual-zone auto air conditioning, and so on.

Upon comparing the Creta with its rivals, we can say that the SUV can give a good run of money to its contenders with its advanced tech and safety features. However, those looking for a powerful SUV might not find it as attractive.

What do you think? Will the Creta make its mark in this highly competitive segment or not?
