Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show 2018 - All there is to know

KUALA LUMPUR: Finally, after five long years, Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show is back. It is one of the biggest events of its kind where we get to see it all. All that the Malaysian automotive industry has on offer and even the ones that are yet to go on sale. So, whether you are a car enthusiast or share an immense love for motorcycles, KLIMS is the place to be.

From mass-market cars to commercial vehicles, onlookers can check them all out and even make a booking. For the ones who love cars and just being around one makes them happy then this motor show is a must visit. Featuring in the upcoming show are many performance and concept cars as well. From Japanese to Germans, Americans to Koreans automakers from around the globe will be installing their podiums at KLIMS. And it's not just about the cars or motorcycles, as onlookers can also enjoy various exciting activities organised by the automakers.

In case, you are in a mood for some new auto parts and accessory then wait a little longer, as at KLIMS 2018 many auto dealers will put up their stall. And who knows, you can even avail some discount on your purchase.

Here are a few things you should know -

  • The KLIMS 2018 is a ten-day event, a complete bliss for auto lovers
  • The event begins from 23rd November and will end on 2nd December 2018
  • It is organised after five years by the Malaysian Automotive Association (MAA)
  • It will be held at the recently inaugurated, Malaysia’s largest exhibition centre - the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre. The MITEC offers 45,000 sqm of exhibition space and consists of 11 humongous halls
  • The show will open its gates from 11:00 am to 10:00 pm from Monday to Friday. And over the weekends, the timing will be increased by an hour with the show opening at 10:00 am and closing at 11:00 pm

  • The KLIMS 2018 will feature the following - model launches, thrilling car performance, bespoke cars, proactive concept cars, a spectrum of wheels for bikes and commercial vehicles, and automotive products and service
  • This year’s auto show theme is #Beyond Mobility. As the Malaysian auto market is driving towards the future market while serving the buyers of the day
  • While the show begins from 23rd November, 22nd is the preview date of the auto show
  • The entry is chargeable starting from RM 5. For adults, it is RM 20 and RM 25 on weekday and weekend, respectively. Children aged 12 or below need to pay RM5.
  • There is also a family package (2 adults with five kids mix) that will cost RM 40 (Mon to Fri) and RM 50 (Sat-Sun)
  • Officials have taken extra care of the handicapped and provided them with free entry. The accompanying person’s admission is also free
  • Tickets can be easily purchased online at 2018 KLIMS official website

  • Each online KLIMS ticket purchased at AirAsia Red Tix is eligible for lucky draw prizes. Fortnightly prizes include return flights ticket to Bangkok, Bali, Jakarta, Shanghai, and Hong Kong. The grand prize includes AirAsia return ticket to Japan and Tokyo
  • Also, the visitor’s entrance pass makes everyone at the show eligible to win a Perodua Myvi, Honda City, and Toyota C-HR
  • Brands (cars, bikes, commercial vehicle) that have confirmed their participation at the KLIMS 2018 (more will be added to the list) - Proton, Perodua, Honda, Toyota & Lexus, Nissan & Infiniti, Mitsubishi, Hyundai, Ford, Isuzu, Kia, Peugeot, Daihatsu, Kawasaki, and Honda
  • Major accessory brands will also be seen at the upcoming motor event, included in the list are - Elite Looks, 3M, High-Tech, Good Life, Kakimotor, V-Kool, NVK Interiors, and Lubricants
  • The launch of Ford Mustang and Ranger Raptor has already been confirmed to take place at the KLIMS. Furthermore, the Proton X70 may launch at the event as well. Perodua will also be showcasing a conceptual vehicle.

How To Reach @KLIMS 2018

The venue for this years KLIMS is MITEC which is easily accessible via several major highways and roads. It is approximately 65 km from Kuala Lumpur International Airport and 9 km from Kuala Lumpur City Centre. Here’s in-depth info as to how you can easily reach KLIMS venue without much hassle.

By Car - You can take all major roads like DUKE, SPRINT Highway, NKVE, and Jalan Kuching

By Bus - You can take the following buses to MITEC - 850, 851, 852, T821. If you are planning to visit the motor show on weekends, we’d recommend taking the direct bus from Titwangsa bus hub.

By Train - Monorail Titwangsa and MRT Semantan are the nearest rail stations
