Lexus LS launched in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: The Lexus LS is now poised for sale in the Malaysian market with Lexus Malaysia presenting three variants of the stunner. Starting with LS 500 Luxury at RM799,000, the LS 500 Executive comes next and is priced at RM999,000. Whereas, the LS 500h Executive being the top model priced at RM1,459,000.

The Lexus LS 500 model, features a 3.5-litre twin-turbocharged V6, with 415 hp maximum power and 600 Nm peak torque. The engine is further mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission.  The automakers are offering a Multi-Stage Hybrid system for the LS 500h, that pairs with a 3.5-litre V6 to generate a 354-hp output.

All the variants come fitted with a standard infotainment display of 12.3” along with a 24” heads-up, colored display, which is by far the largest, offered in the class. The standard equipment also features Automatic quad-zone air-conditioning with Lexus Climate Concierge.

Safety centric, the car comes fitted with 12 airbags and the Lexus Safety System+ as well, which enhances the secure experience through functions such as Vehicle Sway Warning, Lane Departure Alert (LDA), and the Front Pre-Collision System (PCS). There is a blind spot monitor in the car as well in addition to the Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA).

While the car’s Semi-Aniline leather seats make it a comfortable ride, the Automatic quad-zone air-conditioning system adds to the joy of driving the Lexus LS.

For the extra moolah that buyers will shell out for the LS 500h Executive, there are some great add-ons to lust for.

In addition to the hybrid powertrain, the car also focuses on rear passenger comfort. Lexus offers rear massage seats with 22-way Ottoman seats that are power adjustable. There are also two 11.6-inch rear seat displays managed via controls that come embedded in the center, rear armrest. An impressive surround sound system from Mark Levinson, with 23 speakers; adds to the joy of riding this vehicle.

The Lexus LS will be fully imported to the Malaysian market from the Lexus production center in Tahara, Japan. The car comes with the Lexus Malaysia’s unlimited, 5-year mileage warranty.

If all this is not enough already, Lexus has gone ahead and put enhanced exclusivity on the table. Those interested in the finer things in life can up-scale further with the Kiriko Glass package. The Kiriko glass comes handcrafted with hand-folded pleats and gets added to the door trim, for a whopping RM98,000. Due to the exclusivity of the work involved in fine-crafting the Kiriko Glass and the pleated fabric; Lexus has offered to accommodate production of only 60 such units monthly, world-over; which will come fitted with the package.

Buyers get to pick from 11 colors for the exteriors and 6 colors for the interiors.
