Malaysia announces free toll on 8,9 Feb in conjunction with Chinese New Year

KUALA LUMPUR: The government, through a ministerial meeting, has decided to offer free tolls to Class 1 vehicles on February 8 and 9.

    Highway users planning to travel during this festive season are wished a safe journey to their destinations and are encouraged to plan their travels accordingly.

    Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi mentioned that this toll waiver, costing the government approximately RM42.99 million, aims to alleviate the financial burden on those traveling back to their hometowns.

    "Toll exemptions for private vehicles will be implemented at several toll plazas, excluding those at international borders like the Sultan Iskandar Building and the Tanjung Kupang Toll Plaza in Johor," he stated in the press release.

    Users are also advised to take sufficient breaks during their journey and to make sure that their Touch 'n Go card balances and eWallets are adequately funded for a smooth travel experience.
