Malaysia gets three MINI JCW hot hatches - 3-Door Petrol, 3-Door Electric, Aceman Electric

KUALA LUMPUR: BMW Group Malaysia has expanded the MINI lineup in Malaysia with the launch of three new high-performance JCW (John Cooper Works) models. These include - MINI JCW 3-Door Petrol, MINI JCW 3-Door Electric and MINI JCW Aceman Electric.

MINI JCW exterior

The new JCW models blend sporty design with racing-inspired performance while staying true to the brand’s go-kart-like handling and agile driving feel. Differentiating these hot hatches from their standard versions are the following exterior bits - 

• High-gloss black front grille with a custom front lip and a JCW logo on the 3-door Electric and Aceman Electric
• Similar grille but with red-accented vertical air inlets on the 3-door Petrol 
• Red accents on the bonnet stripes, roof, mirror caps, and brake callipers
• Aerodynamically optimised components and side skirts, and wheel arches in gloss black 
• A bold rear spoiler 
• Central exhaust pipe (on the JCW 3-door Petrol)
• 18-inch JCW Lap Spoke wheels with sport tyres on JCW 3-door Petrol and Electric
• 19-inch JCW Lap Spoke two-tone wheels on the JCW Aceman Electric 

MINI JCW interior

Designed for those who love performance and style, the new MINI JCW hatchbacks have equally impressive interior designs. The key highlights include - 

• Bold black and red colour theme with a knitted dashboard incorporating JCW’s signature pattern.
• JCW-specific sports seats upholstered in black synthetic leather with red stitching and multicoloured knitted fabric at the shoulders
• Active Seat with electric adjustment and memory function (Electric models only)
• Panoramic roof lights up with ambient lighting (Electric models only)
• John Cooper Works sports steering wheel with red stitching and pronounced thumb rests, a vertical fabric spoke, and paddle shifters
• High-resolution 240 mm MINI Interaction Unit with a dedicated JCW mode displaying performance data like speed, torque, power retrieval in kW, etc
• JCW-specific centre console with black textile surfaces, red straps, and vibrant silver essence

Other tech and comfort standard features include - MINI Navigation AR, auto anti-dazzle rear-view mirror, wireless phone charging, Harman Kardon surround sound, Comfort Access System, and Comfort Package Plus.

As for safety, all new MINI JCW vehicles are equipped with

• Adaptive Cruise Control with stop and go, steering, and lane control assistant
• Lane change warning with active lane return and active steering intervention
• Rear-cross traffic warning with braking
• Rear-end collision prevention 
• Safe exit warning
• Auto parking assist with panoramic rear view, reversing assistant up to 50 metres
