KUALA LUMPUR: Jetour has introduced an all-new luxury hybrid off-road SUV, the G700, in the Middle East market. It heralds a new chapter for the brand and marks its official entry into the premium hybrid off-road segment.

    Jetour G700: Key highlights

    Drivetrain

    The Jetour G700 is powered by a plug-in hybrid drivetrain combining a 2.0TD engine and two electric motors, generating a combined system power of 904 PS and a peak torque of 1135 Nm.

    The grunt is enough to accelerate the off-road SUV from 0 to 100 kmph in just 4.8 seconds, and achieve a top speed of 180 kmph.

    Also part of the drivetrain is a responsive 2-speed Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT) and a full-time electric 4WD system, promising enhanced stability and confidence on any road or off-road surface. The new Jetour PHEV comes with a 34.13kWh battery, supporting fast-charging at 800V.

    Dimensions 

    Against the measuring tape, it measures 5153 mm in length, 2050 mm in width, and 1960 mm in height, with a long wheelbase of 2850 mm and a ground clearance of 230 mm. It has a towing capacity of 2500 kg.

    Off-road capabilities 

    Based on a durable body-on-frame chassis, the G700 offers advanced 4WD capabilities such as tank turn, low-speed four-wheel drive, creep mode, and a transparent chassis system.

    Built to tackle the extremes, the SUV has a 35-degree approach angle, 28-degree departure angle, and a water wading depth of 900 mm.

    With an ultra-strong body structure, the SUV features multiple airbags, a 360-degree camera and Level 2 autonomous driving, offering protection to all occupants and other road users. The ADAS pack includes -

    Mr. Ke Chuandeng, President of JETOUR International, emphasized that the G700 is significant for JETOUR not only as its first premium hybrid off-road model, but also as a carrier of the brand's upward ambition.

    Jetour cars in Malaysia

    Jetour is one of the strong contenders in the rapidly evolving SUV segment in Malaysia. It offers two striking SUVs here - Dashing and VT9, both are well-equipped and cater to the needs of modern-day drivers.

    The Jetour Dashing is a 5-seater SUV available in two variants - Comfort and Prime, priced at RM 109,800 and RM 116,800, respectively. Both are powered by a 156 PS/230 Nm 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine, offering smooth, linear power delivery.

    The Jetour VT9, a 7-seater SUV, also comes in two trims - Comfort and Prime, priced at RM 119,350 and RM 124,350, respectively. Under the hood lies the same 1.5-litre turbocharged mill kicking out 156 PS and 230 Nm of torque. 

    Jetour SUVs are assembled at Berjaya Assembly’s (B-Assembly) plant in Tampoi, Johor. The brand currently operates 20 authorised dealerships across Peninsular Malaysia and has a target of opening 30 new dealerships nationwide by the end of 2025.
