Jetour Dashing and VT9 are now locally assembled in Johor
KUALA LUMPUR: Backed by Chery Automobile, Jetour entered the Malaysian market earlier this year and impressed everyone with its striking SUVs. Now, the brand has taken a significant leap forward by kicking off the local assembly, reinforcing its long-term commitment to the Malaysian automotive market.

Jetour has expanded its sales and service network to more than 20 locations nationwide.Jetour Auto Malaysia has begun local assembly operations for the Dashing and VT9 SUVs at Berjaya Assembly’s (B-Assembly) plant in Tampoi, Johor, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Berjaya Assets Berhad.
Photo from JetourThe said facility spans 640,000 sq. ft. and is equipped with Industry 4.0-ready systems integrating AI and robotics. Set to act as the brand’s strategic manufacturing and distribution hub for the ASEAN region, the plant is manned by over 100 employees.
Upon achieving this milestone, Jetour International Vice President, Wen Qiangkang said, “This important milestone reflects our strong confidence in Malaysia as a strategic market for Jetour. The local assembly of the Dashing and VT9 is not only a production advancement but also a significant investment in talent, innovation, and the future potential of mobility in the region.”

While Jetour plans to invest another RM 1.4 billion in the expansion of the local assembly, it has also announced an Asia-Pacific (APAC) R&D hub with a separate RM 216 million investment.

Jetour Dashing
The Jetour Dashing is a 5-seater SUV that was launched in April as a fully imported CBU model, with deliveries of the CKD version kicking off last month. It is offered in two variants - Comfort and Prime, priced at RM 109,800 and RM 116,800, respectively. Both are powered by a 156 PS/230 Nm 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine, offering smooth, linear power delivery.

The Jetour VT9 is a 7-seater SUV that was introduced at the 2025 Malaysia Autoshow in May, directly in CKD form. It also comes in two trims - Comfort and Prime, priced at RM 119,350 and RM 124,350, respectively. Under the hood lies the same 1.5-litre turbocharged mill kicking out 156 PS and 230 Nm of torque.
