Proton Inspira production shut down
Kuala Lumpur: A source confirmed that the production of Proton Inspira has now officially been sunned down. This is second such news since the production of the revamped Mitsubishi Lancer took a halt in early April this year. All this been said, all the interested people can still manage to grab their hands of the remaining units of Proton Inspira as the car, as on now, remains on sale on the Proton Edar website.
The sedan, Proton Inspira was first introduced in the Malaysian market in 2010 and as of now, 3 variants of the drive are now on offer – The base variant 1.8 M/T followed by 2.0-litre Executive and 2.0-litre Premium (Both of these are equipped with CVT Transmission). Now, to revise, the 1.8-litre variant delivers a power output of 140 bhp alongside 177 Nm of torque and the more powerful 2.0-litre engine produces a power output of 150 bhp alongside a maximum power of 150 bhp alongside 197 Nm torque.
The pricing of this dedicated C-segment sedan begins at RM 77,820 for base 1.8-litre variant. The 2.0-litre Executive goes for RM 84,365 while the range leader 2.0-litre Premium is priced at RM 91,596. All the pricing stands inclusive of OTR insurance (on the road) costs and insurance. So this may pretty much be your last shot at an efficient sporty, 4-door sedan for less than RM 100,000.
