Sime Darby Motors teamed up with SpareXhub for online selling

KUALA LUMPUR: To further digitize its customers’ experience, Sime Darby Motors Malaysia (SDM Malaysia) has recently made a tie-up with SpareXhub, a genuine spare parts e-commerce platform. In line with that, the customers can now source, order, and purchase the genuine automotive spare parts of the company’s preferred brands from an additional avenue at highly competitive prices.

The SpareXhub, owned by ACS Pentas (Asia) Sdn Bhd provides a one-stop contactless platform to the buyers through which they can purchase from the comfort of their home or office.

While briefing about the new association, Jeffrey Gan, Managing Director of SDM Malaysia’s Retail and Distribution arm said, “This collaboration is a good example of how we consistently innovate and leverage on technology partners to enhance the customer journey, especially in the face of the current pandemic limiting in-person experience. It is also in line with our digital transformation plan to have end-to-end digital solutions by allowing contactless orders, payment, and delivery, for an improved customer experience. Car owners, especially those without manufacturers’ warranties, can now have peace of mind when purchasing genuine spare parts from SpareXhub in a market that is flooded with original equipment manufacturer (OEM), aftermarket and used parts.”

He further stated that the digital transformation occurring in the automotive sector is certainly opening up new opportunities for the company. The latest association with the e-commerce platform will not only expand the firm’s digital outreach with selected post-warranty models, but it will also cater to stockists and independent workshops who register on the online store at www.sparexhub.com.

Along with the customers, this tie-up also provides benefits to SDM Malaysia as it will increase its stock turnover, leading to better operational efficiency by freeing up warehouse space, and better management of inventory and will ultimately reduce obsolescence.

As mentioned earlier, the SpareXhub is an e-commerce startup, which is owned by ACS Pentas Asia (APASB). It serves as a centralized marketplace for branded, automotive spare parts including aged parts.
