Three Mitsubishi Triton pickup trucks donated to the Malaysia Red Crescent Society

KUALA LUMPUR: Time and again, the official distributor of Mitsubishi Motors cars in the country, Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia, has come forward to help society and organizations working on the forefront. In its recent actions, the automaker contributed three Triton 4x4 to the Malaysia Red Crescent Society (MRCS).

The non-profit organization will use the donated Triton 4X4 pickup to provide humanitarian and logistical support to the needy during flood disasters.

Shinya Ikeda, CEO of Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia said, “In line with Mitsubishi Motors Corporation’s (MMC) social contribution activities, the company is making every effort to provide a wide range of support in response to disasters or emergency situations. Locally, we are humbled to partner with MRCS, an NGO which devotes its time to humanitarian services. We are confident that the Triton will assist MRCS to tackle the harshest of road conditions caused by heavy downpours such as extremely slippery roads, uneven terrains, and inundated roads all of which the Triton is capable of.”

From November 2022 to March 2023, the Malaysian Red Crescent Society anticipates heavy rainfall. Also, the NGO has been alerted by the Department of Irrigation and Drainage about flash floods in cities with rapid urbanization along with the annual monsoon floods in already identified areas.

A little bit about MRCS

The NGO has been offering disaster response services in the country for over six decades and follows the National Security Council’s guidelines which is a lead disaster management & national security agency. Part of MRCS's services includes - Disaster Recovery, Disaster Preparedness, and Disaster Relief.
