Volvo and Qualcomm will collaborate to enhance infotainment systems
KUALA LUMPUR: At the ongoing 2022 Consumer Electronics Show, Volvo and Qualcomm have officially announced their collaboration for the purpose of enhancing infotainment systems.

So, moving forward all Volvo’s and Polestar’s fully electric vehicles will use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Cockpit Platforms to power the next-gen Google Android OS-based infotainment system. Thus taking the car’s digital cabin environment to the next level.
Apart from looking all fancy, the new Snapdragon Cockpit Platform can fulfill highly demanding graphics, artificial intelligence, and audio requirements in the upcoming Polestar 3 and Volvo’s fully electric car that will be replacing the XC90. The best part is all will be done while consuming very low power.
Thanks to the latest Snapdragon Automotive Platforms, Volvo’s next-gen infotainment system will be faster (more than twice) and the graphic generation will be ten times faster as well. As for the user interface, it will be the tried and tested Google Android Automotive-based infotainment unit.
Furthermore, OEMs will be able to curate an in-car experience as per the customers’ requirements, with over-the-air updates ensuring the car is tuned with the latest features and updates.
