Slow transmission, rough engine
While I had a positive experience with the BMW X1, I feel it fails to deliver what it claims. The driving experience was fine, but it left me wanting more. The gas pedal is one noticeable quirk, as sometimes it feels disconnected. When I step on it from a stop, there is a noticeable pause before the X1 begins to move, and even then, it doesn't leap forward swiftly. It feels as if the engine is taking its time revving up. Although using Sport Plus mode improves responsiveness, I wanted a little more from this car. On the plus side, the well-geared suspension offers a smooth ride.
