Buyers can now register their interest for the upcoming BMW iX1

KUALA LUMPUR: A new electric car will soon enter the Malaysian market! Scheduled to be introduced by the German automaker BMW is the iX1 xDrive30 which we can now see on the automaker’s official website with its ROI (registration of interest) now open.

Before the all-new BMW iX1 lands on the Malaysian market, it is a good idea to know the all-electric car in advance.

Variants

The all-electric BMW iX1 was introduced back in June 2022 along with the new X1 and now it will land on Malaysian soil soon. As per BMW Malaysian website, the iX1 will be offered in only one variant option called the iX1 xDrive30.

Features

The upcoming BMW iX1 will surely come loaded with several advanced features both inside and out. A few of the confirmed features include -

• An almost-square kidney grille design

• A 10.7-inch control display

Powertrain

The upcoming iX1 will be powered by a dual-motor unit making a maximum power of 313 hp along with a peak torque of 494 Nm. Part of the setup is the brand's 5th gen eDrive tech, also both the motors are permanent magnet synchronous units.

Performance

The above-mentioned configuration allows the new BMW EV to complete a century sprint in just 5.6 seconds and has an electronically limited top speed of 180 kmph.

Battery & Range

Juicing the dual-motor setup is a 64.7 kWh lithium-ion battery pack proving a range of up to 440 km.

Charging

AC charging	11 kW	0-100% in 6.5 hours
DC charging	130 kW	10% to 80% in 29 minutes
