2019 Proton Persona to have 32% lower maintenance cost

KUALA LUMPUR: At the preview event of 2019 Proton Persona that took place yesterday, the carmaker claimed that the maintenance cost of the car would be lower than other B-segment sedans. Talking about other cars, it'll compete with the likes of Perodua Bezza and Honda City. Proton claims that on an average the maintenance cost of the new Persona will be 32% lower than other sedans.

It seems that the manufacturer is pretty optimistic about its new offering. During the presentation, it showed the datasheet regarding how much the claimed maintenance cost will increase after five years of usage. The carmaker clearly explained providing the details of the servicing cost for the Persona, Bezza, and Honda City which are RM 3,051.91, RM 4,287.71 and RM 3,782.96, respectively. These figures precisely indicate the maintenance cost for the facelifted Persona is RM 1,235.80 lower than the Bezza, and for the City, it is RM 731.05 less.

Also, the 2019 Proton Persona’s servicing will be easier as the carmaker has several 3S and 4S centres. Currently, the company has 75 centres and claims that the number would only increase in the future. Due to the partnership with Geely, the manufacturer has been expanding and upgrading the sales and service network, as the main moto is to improve the customer’s experience.

Proton has claimed that the facelifted Persona will launch with 303 tweaks. The designing and features on the inside and outside are completely revamped. The front features “Eternal Bow design”, which can be seen under the front grille. Also, the front grille of the car gets an “Infinite Weave” pattern. The black and beige color treatment is given to inside. There is also a new infotainment system, which consists of a seven-inch touchscreen display.

Proton also announced that the 2019 Persona would be launched along with the facelifted Iriz in this month. Meanwhile, online flash booking for the car has been started today, which will end on 22nd March. Interested individuals can book the car for a nominal amount of RM 9.99.
