2020 Toyota RAV4 brochure leaked ahead of official debut on June 18

KUALA LUMPUR: UMW Toyota has recently teased the most long-awaited RAV4 on its official website with a caption “Coming soon.” Later on, a video teaser also appeared on the brand’s social media account, mentioning that the model will make its official launch debut on June 18 in Malaysia. However, it does not reveal many details about the upcoming model, but the wait is over now, though unofficially.

A few hours ago, a leaked brochure of the 2020 Toyota RAV4 had surfaced on Facebook, which revealed all the details about the most highly anticipated vehicle of this year. The front cover of the brochure indicates that it is indeed for Malaysia as “toyota.com.my” is written in the upper right corner. Let’s take a sneak peek!

The following pages of the brochure reveal that Toyota RAV4 will be available in two variants offering 2.5-litre and 2.0-litre engine options. The top-spec 2.5L variant is powered by an A25A-FKS 2.5 four-cylinder engine paired with Direct Shift eight-speed automatic gearbox, producing 207 PS of power and 243 Nm of torque while the base 2.0L trim houses an M20A-FKS four-cylinder mill generating 173 PS and 207 Nm of torque, mated to a CVT. Both variants have a front-wheel-drive, which comes with three optional drive modes - Normal, Eco, and Sport.

Toyota RAV4 exterior colors options include Dark Blue Mica, White Pearl Crystal Shine, Red Mica, Silver Metallic, Grey Metallic, and Attitude Black. Equipment list comprises automatic LED headlights with LED DRLs, LED taillights, front and rear fog lamps, 18-inch alloy wheels, automatic wipers, and a powered boot lid.

Inside the cabin, RAV4 houses an Optitron instrument cluster with a seven-inch MID, dual-zone climate control with rear vents, an eight-way powered driver’s seat with memory function, keyless entry and start, a wireless charger and leather upholstery.

In terms of safety, Toyota RAV4 is well packed as it comes with the Toyota Safety Sense suite. Other safety bits are almost the same as expected, including 7 airbags, ABS, blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert, vehicle stability control, hill start assist, a tyre pressure monitoring system, Isofix child seat anchors, seat belt warning system, and front and rear parking sensors.

Here we have the most crucial question: What is the price of Toyota RAV4? Sorry to say, but the leaked brochure, as well as the social media post, did not answer this. For that, we have to wait a few more days.
