2021 Bentley Bentayga Speed launched in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: All-new Bentley Bentayga Speed has finally made it to the Malaysian market. And we are more than happy to welcome the Crewe’s first ever SUV that went missing for a while after its last year update. The vehicle features a bunch of emblem that reads out ‘Speed’ which denotes extra power it generates over the standard four-litre V8 powerplant.

Speaking of power, the new Bentayga Speed’s W12 engine makes 626 bhp and 900 Nm of torque. These figures are capable enough to propel the car from 0 to 100 kmph in just 3.8 seconds. The top speed is rated at 306 kmph, we know quite too much to handle.

The owner can deactivate an entire bank of cylinders and run the Bentayga Speed as a quieter and efficient six-cylinder engined SUV. Furthermore, the ‘sail’ function can be used to decouple the eight-speed transmission from the mill when cruising from fifth gear and above. Thus, making it a fun and interesting way to own a 12-cylinder car in the country as far as Malaysia’s road tax is concerned. How? Well, the customer will only pay RM 6,360 annually compared to RM 15,405 one needs to pay for a Continental GT.

The new Bentayga Speed benefits from the world’s first 48V electric active roll control technology, the Bentley Dynamic Ride System. The said system works along with the brand’s AWD drivetrain and air suspension to deliver an enhanced ‘Sport’ mode which is unique to the SUV.

Enough about the power and capability, let’s now discuss the new Bentayga Speed design language. Giving more power to the already super-capable is the posh exterior finish that includes darkened or completely blacked out elements, like the darkened radiator grille, tinted light cluster, and 22-inch wheels done in the same hue.

As expected, Bentley is offering customers with 88 exterior colour options and an interior palette consisting of 15 hide colours, 8 veneers, 6 colour splits, and 2 technical finishes.
