2022 Porsche Taycan comes with a handful of upgrades, including fast charging

KUALA LUMPUR: Porsche has introduced the all-new 2022 Taycan and Taycan Cross Turismo with several upgrades, including new colour options and new tech features. The models will arrive at Porsche America dealerships by the end of 2021.

The new Taycan is powered by an electric mill with improved thermal charging and management. The unit includes the Turbo Charging Planner which shortens the charge time by heating the battery, thus allowing fast charging and that to at a higher charger level. Furthermore, the car can even harvest excess heat coming from electrical components, so there's enhanced battery temperature regulation.

The exterior colour palette now includes two new, optional kits - the Paint to Sample and Paint to Sample Plus. The former includes 65 hues, some of the colours being Moonlight Blue Metallic, Rubystar, Viola Metallic, Acid Green, Riviera Blue, and Rubystar. The latter, on the other hand, allows the customer to ask for any possible share of the car that can be imagined.

The most exciting highlight however is the inclusion of Remote Park Assist. As the name suggests, the system allows the car to pull into or exit a parking space without anyone behind the wheels. The efficiency of the system can be judged by the fact that it can even handle parallel parking. Who does this system activate? Both from inside the car or outside via a smartphone.

Another striking inclusion is that the car's infotainment system now supports Android Auto. Owners would be required to plug their smartphone into the USB-C port, no wireless connectivity is not an option.

Furthermore, the Voice Pilot voice assistant has also been updated for a better understanding of the owner's instructions. The satellite navigation system now showcases redesigned graphics and can make quick calculations.
