2026 BYD ATTO 3 launched in Malaysia: Ultra at RM125,800, Premium at RM138,800 with 800V RWD

2026 BYD ATTO 3 launched in Malaysia: Ultra at RM125,800, Premium at RM138,800 with 800V RWD

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia has been picked as the first market in Asia Pacific to get the 2026 BYD ATTO 3, with BYD Sime Motors unveiling the updated electric SUV today at the Sime Motors MotorExpo 2026 in Kuala Lumpur.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • What is the price of the 2026 BYD ATTO 3 in Malaysia?

The 2026 BYD ATTO 3 is priced at RM125,800 for the Ultra and RM138,800 for the Premium, both OTR without insurance.
  • What is the range of the 2026 BYD ATTO 3?

The Ultra has a claimed NEDC range of 480 km, while the Premium offers 510 km on the WLTP cycle.
  • What is the difference between the 2026 BYD ATTO 3 Ultra and Premium?

    The Ultra uses a 60.48 kWh battery with a 150 kW front-wheel-drive motor and does 0-100 km/h in 7.3 seconds. The Premium gets a larger 74.88 kWh battery, a 230 kW rear-wheel-drive motor, 800-volt architecture, 220 kW DC fast charging, and a quicker 5.5-second 0-100 km/h time.
  • The model comes in two variants, Ultra and Premium, and brings some significant changes over the outgoing car that's been on sale here since early 2025.

It's worth putting the milestone in context first. BYD says it has now moved over 32,000 units across all models in Malaysia, making it the country's top-selling EV brand by cumulative volume. The ATTO 3 alone accounts for 12,000 of those sales since its local debut in December 2022.

    Pricing and launch package

The 2026 BYD ATTO 3 Ultra is priced at RM125,800 , while the Premium variant comes in at RM138,800, both OTR without insurance.

BYD Sime Motors is offering an early bird launch package worth up to RM14,000 for the first 500 customers, which includes an early bird overtrade value of RM10,000 and a choice between a wall charger with standard installation or a six-year standard service package.

For trade-ins, there's an overtrade value of up to RM13,000 for the BYD SEALION 7 and up to RM10,288 for the BYD SEAL 6.

The 2026 ATTO 3 is available for viewing and booking at the Sime Motors MotorExpo 2026 from 5 to 7 June at Hall B, Level 2, XOX Arena, The Arch Galeries Kuala Lumpur, from 10am to 12am daily. It is also available at all authorised BYD showrooms nationwide.

What's changed from the outgoing model

The previous ATTO 3 Ultra, which launched in early 2025 at RM123,800, was a minor refresh of the 2024 car. Updated wheels, revised headlamps, an all-black interior, ventilated seats, and NFC digital key support were the headline changes. Incremental, but not transformative.

The 2026 model is a more meaningful step forward on both variants.

The new Ultra keeps the same front wheel drive layout, 60.48 kWh battery and 150 kW motor, so performance and range figures are unchanged. The main technical gain is DC fast charging, which improves from 88 kW on the outgoing model to 110 kW.

Visually though, both variants get a reworked front and rear bumper design, redesigned taillights with a new pattern, a new spoiler with integrated split brake lights, and a cleaner C-pillar without the scale pattern covers.

The charging port has also moved to the rear. Inside, expect a revised dashboard layout, a new steering wheel design similar to what's in the Atto 2 and Seal 6, a column-mounted gear selector replacing the gear stick, and a redesigned centre console.

The Premium is where it gets genuinely interesting. It's effectively the Evo variant that BYD launched in Europe earlier this year, and it's a very different car underneath.

It ditches front-wheel drive entirely for a rear-wheel-drive setup powered by a 230 kW motor producing 380 Nm, cutting the 0-100 km/h time from 7.3 seconds to 5.5 seconds.

The battery grows to 74.88 kWh and, critically, the Premium runs an 800-volt electrical architecture, which is what enables DC fast charging up to 220 kW. BYD claims it can charge from 10 to 80% in around 25 minutes.

WLTP-rated range comes in at 510 km, a 90 km improvement over the outgoing model's 420 km. The rear suspension also gets upgraded to a five-link setup versus the four-link on the Ultra, and a 101-litre front trunk is added thanks to the motor moving to the rear.

Both variants also gain built-in Google services including Google Maps, Google Assistant, YouTube, and the Play Store.

    Full specs breakdown

The Ultra runs a 60.48 kWh Blade LFP battery with a 150 kW front-wheel-drive motor producing 310 Nm, good for a claimed NEDC range of 480 km and 0-100 km/h in 7.3 seconds. DC fast charging tops out at 110 kW.

The Premium uses a larger 74.88 kWh Blade battery, a 230 kW rear-wheel-drive motor with 380 Nm, an 800-volt architecture, and a 510 km WLTP-rated range. The 0-100 km/h time drops to 5.5 seconds and DC fast charging reaches 220 kW. Suspension is MacPherson with dual-ball joint up front and a five-link multilink at the rear.

Both variants share the same body dimensions: 4,455 mm long, 1,875 mm wide, 1,615 mm tall, on a 2,720 mm wheelbase, rolling on 235/50 R18 tyres. Inside, both get a 15.6-inch centre screen, 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster, panoramic roof, 50W wireless charging, and ventilated front seats. ADAS is standard on both, with the Premium receiving the enhanced package.

On safety, the Ultra has six airbags while the Premium adds a front far-side centre airbag for seven total. Boot space is 1,340 litres for the Ultra (seats folded) and 1,360 litres for the Premium, which also gains the 101-litre front trunk.

Colour options across both variants include Ski White, Atlantis Grey, Harbour Grey, and Cosmos Black.
