2026 Leapmotor C10 EV teased in Malaysia; launch expected soon

KUALA LUMPUR: Launched in October 2024, the Leapmotor C10 EV is ready to get a new round of updates in Malaysia. Leapmotor Malaysia recently teased the upgraded EV on its social media handles with the caption ‘Coming soon’.

According to the teaser, the 2026 Leapmotor C10 will feature “more power” and “more range,” offering even greater value to those seeking a well-tuned EV. While no further details have been released yet, we can refer to the updated C10 introduced in China last year to get an idea.

2026 Leapmotor C10: What to expect?

• The new Leapmotor C10 features an advanced 800V high-voltage system, replacing the 400V architecture, which enables faster and more efficient battery charging. 
• It is equipped with a more powerful electric motor tuned to deliver a maximum power of 299 PS, which is 68 PS more than the previous C10 sold in China. In line with this, we can also expect a significant increase in output for the locally available model that currently generates 218 PS.
• The Chinese-spec model also benefits from a larger 74.9 kWh battery pack, resulting in an extended driving range of 496 km (on the WLTP cycle). For context, the ongoing EV comes with a 69.9 kWh LFP battery that allows it to cruise up to 424 km on a single charge. 

• The battery charges at a faster pace, taking just 16 minutes to go from 30% to 80% SoC, thanks to the new 800V electrical architecture.
• The new C10 looks almost identical to the previous model in terms of appearance, featuring the same future-forward design with an aerodynamic silhouette, curved headlights connected by an LED bar and a single taillight unit.
• The colour palette received Purple as a new option, which is also offered with the Leapmotor B10.

• Inside, we can expect some important changes in the form of an upgraded 14.6-inch infotainment system and expanded feature list, including a 50W wireless charging pad and powered door handles.

With more power and a higher range, the Leapmotor C10 aims to strengthen its position in the competitive electric SUV segment in Malaysia. Its appeal could be further boosted by the local assembly operations that are expected to begin soon at the Stellantis production plant in Gurun, Kedah.
