A90 Toyota GR Supra to retail via GR Garage

KUALA LUMPUR: Helping UMW Toyota push its sporting front is the Toyota Gazoo Racing (TGR) Festival; however, it's not the only avenue that’ll promote TGR activities in Malaysia. Why? Well, because with the launch of A90 Toyota GR Supra will also arrive GR Garage, a hub that’ll promote all Gazoo Racing related things.

The Japanese automaker talked about the GR Garage at the launch of the Toyota Gazoo Racing - Season 3. The GR Garage will sell all Toyota GR cars, starting with the A90 GR Supra. In addition, it’ll also display models derived and inspired by Toyota motor racing events.

The GR Garage would be located within the Toyota dealership only, where there will be a corner fully dedicated to GR branding. A source close to the company tells that a total of 6 GR Garages will be opened across Malaysia. Though the company does not reveal specific locations, we think that apart from having one at Klang Valley, the GR Garage will extend from north to south region.

Toyota recently announced at the TGR season three launch that the A90 GR Supra would make its local debut in September. The company has not spilled the beans on the sports car’s specifications. However, we are pretty sure a 3.0-litre six-cylinder turbocharged engine would power it.

Even Toyota GR Supra price tag remains undercover, but we think it’ll rest close to that of the G29 BMW Z4, as it’s Supra’s close cousin. So, maybe somewhere around and not less than RM 479,800 on-the-road without insurance.
