All 19 units of Ford Ranger Splash Limited Edition booked

KUALA LUMPUR: Sime Darby Auto Connexion (SDAC) had launched the limited edition Ford Ranger Splash pickup truck towards the end of October. It was announced that only 19 units of the vehicles would be made available at e-commerce portal Lazada’s 11.11 Shopping Festival. The motor company has now announced that all the units have already been pre-booked.

Notably, the limited-edition Ranger Splash is Ford’s first vehicle in the country to be sold online. It is also the first vehicle to be sold via Lazada’s “Chup Dulu” function. Syed Ahmad Muzri Syed Faiz, the managing director of SDAC said on the occasion, “Malaysians consumers have embraced e-commerce and added that Ford customers can look forward to more exciting programmes in the coming future”.

The total booking fee for the vehicle was RM1,389, where the customers required to pay only 10% amount i.e. RM139 online, and the rest amount of RM1,250 had to be paid on the day of Lazada’s 11.11 Shopping festival to confirm the booking. In case, a customer has a change of mind after the final booking, the whole pre-booking amount of RM1,389 will be refunded.


The Ford Ranger Splash price is set to RM138,888 (On-road, without insurance). The price includes 100,000 km or three years of factory warranty along with 100,000 km or five years of a maintenance package. The pickup is based on the Ranger 2.0L XLT Plus Automatic variant. However, the exterior is designed with all-black colour along with fluorescent yellow coloured ‘Ranger Splash’ decals.

The Ford Ranger Splash retains some existing features, such as SYNC 3 touchscreen infotainment system of eight-inch, HID projector headlamps with LED DRLs, dual-zone climate control, keyless entry and start, a standard Easy Lift Tailgate and Electric Power Assisted Steering or EPAS along.


Some updated features are matte black front kangaroo bar, built-in toll reader, monitor camera with 360 degrees around view, side mirror covers, sports bar, rear bumper, fender flash, alloy wheels, and special all-black front grille.

The Ranger 2.0L XLT Plus Automatic engine is powered by a single-turbo 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel, which offers 180 PS and 420 Nm of torque. The engine is given power through Automatic 10-speed transmission and an all-wheel or four-wheel-drive system, which also can be interchanged between 4WD high, 4WD low and 2WD.
