Let us now explore the new GAC GS3 via images -

The GS3 as mentioned above belongs to the B-segment compact SUV arena, meaning it is a pretty big car. Justifying the same are its dimensions which read the following -

    Length

    4,358 mm

    Width

    1,825 mm

    Height

    1,660 mm

    Wheelbase

    2,560 mm

    Trunk capacity

    356-litre

    Fuel tank capacity

    50-litre

When compared to its rival, the Proton X50 that occupies the same B-segment space, the GS3 showcases a larger footprint. It is 28 mm longer, 25 mm wider, and 51 mm taller, however, it loses out in terms of wheelbase.

The GS3 offers a boot space of 356-litre that can be expanded to 780-litre by flooding the 60:40 split rear seats flat.

Further ensuring a smooth ride all along irrespective of the terrain is its suspension setup that includes MacPherson Independent units at the front and Torsion Beam at the rear. Enabling the SUV to stop are its disc brakes at both ends.

Powering the new GS3 is a DCVVT 1495 cc mill making a maximum power of 114 PS at 6,000 along with a peak torque of 150 Nm at 4,500 rpm.

The power is sent to the front wheels via an Aisin-sourced 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.

GAC claims the GS3 offers a fuel economy of 14.5 kmpl following the NEDC standard.

As can be seen from the images, the GS3 is an attractive car with several useful features. For instance, at the front it gets Halogen headlights with height adjustment, follow-me-home, and an alarm function. The Premium variant gets front fog lamps as well.

On the side, it gets 17-inch aluminum alloys wrapped in 215/60 R17 tyres. A temporary spare wheel is offered with both variants. The power-adjustable ORVM comes with a foldable function in the range-topping trim.

The rear gets LED tail lights and the rear windshield comes with a defogger and defrosting function.

Not to forget, its black roof, roof rails, and wing mirror covers. Also, both the driver’s window and power sunroof come with an anti-pinch function.

On the inside, the GS3 features a clean, well-organized dashboard. That comes fitted with Leatherette-trimmed & multi-functional steering wheel, a 3.5-litre LCD instrument panel, intelligent key & push start button, and an 8-inch colour touch screen display with AM/FM, MP3/WMA, Carplay/Phone Mirroring, Bluetooth, and USB port.

The car’s dark interior comes fitted with a 6-way adjustable driver’s seat, 4-way adjustable front passenger’s seat, and 60:40 split and reclining second-row seat. The Premium variant also gets a second-row centre seat headrest and armrest.

Other features of the GS3 kit are - cruise control, ECO mode, speed-based volume adjustment, manual-dimming rearview mirror, air-con system with Air Filter (PM2.5), and internal lighting delay off.

The GAC GS3 is loaded with safety features that will protect the driver and his family. Part of the kit are - dual front airbags, side curtain airbags, front side airbags (only Premium grade), seatbelt alarm for all seats, ISOFIX child seat anchors, child safety door lock, and engine immobilizer with anti-theft alarm.

The car’s passive safety features include - Anti-Lock Braking System, Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, Electronic Stability Program, Hydraulic Brake Assist, Hill Descent Control, Hill Start Hold Control, Emergency Stop Signal, Parking Sensors, Rear View Camera, and Blind Spot Detection.
