Audi Q7 scores a five-star rating from Euro NCAP

Kuala Lumpur: The European Euro NCAP consortium has awarded the Audi Q7 with the top grade of five stars for safety. The results for adult protection in frontal and side impact collisions, pedestrian protection and child safety put the current Audi Q7 among the safest SUV category.

In addition, Audi Q7 has also received “Euro NCAP Advanced” award for the multicollision brake assist system and the Audi pre sense basic, which comes standard in every Q7. These systems tension the seatbelt before a collision and closes the windows and sunroof.

Adult Occupant (94%):

The SUV Audi Q7 performed greatly grabbing five out of five stars, with a 94% score in Adult Occupant and 88% in Child Occupant. Euro NCAP also rates on the parameters pedestrian safety and safety assistant systems among that the Audi Q7 scored 70% and 76% respectively. With the ratings, Audi Q7 successfully becomes a protective SUV in the segment but lacks behind to beat the new Volvo XC90.

Child Occupant (88%):

To elaborate in more detail, the multi-collision brake assist systems initiates braking automatically in case of an accident to reduce the risk of skidding and the danger of further collisions.

Pedestrian (70%):

Other new assistance systems that make the Audi Q7 even safer in traffic are the collision avoidance assist, turn assist and exit warning. Whereas the collision avoidance assist helps the driver to drive around an obstacle to avoid an accident, the turn assist monitors oncoming traffic when turning left at low speed.

Safety Assist (76%):

In critical situations, Audi Q7 completely stops with the effective braking system. With the exit warning, LEDs light up red when the doors are opened if other vehicles or bicycles are approaching from the rear.
